Celebrating Malcolm’s Diverse Musical Spirit.
Malcolm passed away suddenly on October 27, 1996, leaving several musical
projects undone. He had always wanted his old band The Cypress Swamp
Stompers to make a recording and he was just starting on a Flamenco
guitar project. Some of Malcolm’s many friends never heard him play
these styles and some will have fond memories of seeing the Stompers
perform. Malcolm was a musician that was constantly exploring and branching
out in any musical direction that suited his fancy.
The Stomper section of the cd is from a live 1980 performance and features Malcolm's stage chatter along with songs he wrote, co-wrote and ones that he really enjoyed singing and playing. It is like going back in time to an evening with The Cypress Swamp Stompers.
