Writers In The Round, a community sponsored, not for profit, tax-exempt corporation was formed to nurture, support, encourage and preserve the cultural diversity and heritage of creative writers, poets and songwriters from all countries and cultures, to provide a nurturing atmosphere for writers, poets and songwriters from around the world to gather together to perform original works and to inspire the creation of new works. Major emphasis is placed on multi-cultural original music which does not receive serious attention from the commercial media and the music industry. Poets, songwriters and composers of music who are unlikely to be heard over the major market radio stations are featured in family oriented theatrical presentations with well established songwriters from around the world.

Writers In The Round began its leap into the world of performing arts in Houston, Texas at Main Street Theater in 1990 and we are celebrating our fifteenth year providing multicultural programming for the entire community.
